Better Animals Plus, does that name sound familiar to you? This is probably because you have used, or at least heard of, the Better Animals Models mod which improves the basic animal model. Meanwhile, the Better Animals Plus mod fills the world of Minecraft with a variety of carefully crafted animals that will make the game even more alive.
The mod comes with passive and hostile animals and a mini-boss you can fight against. The mod includes both natural and fantastic animals.
The new Mobs
To go into details, the Better Animals Plus mod includes many mobs listed below:
Peaceful animals
Among the peaceful animals you will find deer, vultures (a kind of flying bird), pheasants, reindeer, nautilus but also squirrels, dragonflies, butterflies and crabs.
Neutral animals
Neutral animals won’t attack you unless you annoy them:
- Black bear
- Kermode Bear (Black Bear subspecies)
- Goat
- Astonished
The jellyfish
Jellyfish appear naturally in ocean biomes, if you touch them they will sting you, you will be blinded and you will not be able to move for a few seconds.
The goats
Goats are neutral creatures that roam the plains, savannas, forests, and other hilly and mountainous areas.
Goats can be tamed. If a goat is fed wheat, carrots, potatoes, apples or beets, it will become “friends” with you. But she won’t follow you like a wolf would, yet she will run headfirst into anything that might attack her or you.
Goats can be milked to obtain goat’s milk, which can be used to make new cheese:
Hostile animals
Do not get too close to hostile animals otherwise you risk leaving feathers:
- grizzly
- Coyote
- Fierce wolf
- Boar
Monsters
Tarantula
Hirschgeist (Miniboss)
The Hirschgeist is a miniboss that takes the form of a skeletal deer. He can throw flames and attack with his horns. It is rarely found in forests and attacks and can only be attacked at night.
You can also make it appear with the hand of fate:
Plants
The Trilium
Trillium is a plant that often grows in swamp biomes, in groups of one to three. It can bloom in purple or yellow, with purple being more common. The purple variant is called Trillium erectum and the yellow variant is called Trillium luteum.
